Who is Journey PCC?

Hello and welcome! I’m Jay, and I’m excited to be a part of your journey as you transform your aspirations into achievements. Let me tell you some of my story and how I can help you achieve your personal and performance goals!

I founded Journey PCC in 2024. I have always enjoyed coaching and teaching from a young age and loved seeing others accomplish their goals. This started with teaching friends and family to waterski in my childhood and led me to become a high school coach while completing my undergraduate degree, and continuing to coach when I began teaching at the high school level.

My curiosity and love of learning kept me interested in human performance. I read books and articles, watched documentaries, and listened to lectures on strength training, sports psychology, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and various training methodologies for longevity and sports performance. This led me to a master’s degree in coaching studies, where I was more formally introduced to the world of mental performance. The seed was planted, and shortly after completing my degree, I began looking into becoming a Mental Performance Consultant. I left my teaching career and moved across the country to complete a second master’s degree, this time in applied sports psychology.

With Journey, I can combine my experience and expertise in the mind and body to help you reach your goals. Please explore the site to learn more about my services, or contact me directly with any questions. I look forward to the opportunity to work together and support your journey, wherever it takes you.

The Logo

The logo consists of a pathway winding through the mountains with the sun or moon in the distance. Moving to Vancouver Island in 2009 to start my undergraduate degree and being surrounded by mountains and the ocean are something I am grateful for. The way I approach my work and life is similar to going along a path through the mountains. All journeys will be full of climbing and descending, unexpected obstacles, and various points where more than one path will be in front of you. I try to gain wisdom from my experience and those who have given me their time on my journey, recognizing that in order to enjoy the views at the top, sometimes we need to descend or change course, and to try to embrace the moment as we are experiencing it. The sun, or moon, can be rising or setting, depending on your perspective, and what lies beyond the last mountain remains a mystery, waiting for us to one day reach it.
